Almost 400 in attendance at Family Picnic

Saturday, June 29, 2013Burr Ridge, IL —  This year, almost 400 people showed up to Helping Hand Center's annual Family Network Picnic. Threatened with a past five days of showers and thuderstorms, the day of the picnic was perfectly dry and had the biggest turnout ever.



Fire Damages Helping Hand Thrift Shop in Brookfield

Thursday, April 18, 2013Brookfield, IL —  On Thursday evening, April 18, at approximately 11:00 pm there was a fire at the Helping Hand Thrift Shop in Brookfield. The building sustained extensive damage but no one was in the building at the time of the fire and no one was injured.

Providing Healthier Lifestyles for People with Disabilities
Spring 2012 - We achieve this goal in a new 5K Training Group program as well as a healthy eating program in our 11 local group homes that have helped more than 50 adults lose a combined total of over 400 pounds.

Helping Hand Center Assists Nineteen People with Disabilities Get a Job
Winter 2012 - One of the ways they fulfill their mission is by providing employment services for people with disabilities. They have helped 19 people with disabilities obtain employment this year.
