We offer evaluations in the areas of Global Development, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Pathology, and Physical Therapy.
- to assist families in understanding the needs of their child
- to assist families in obtaining appropriate services for their child
- to develop an individualized intervention program
- to educate and support parents
Our skilled therapists comprehensively evaluate our clients using clinical standardized test instruments. We begin the evaluation process with a parent interview to collect detailed information about the developmental and behavioral history of the child. We then assess the child to determine developmental levels, academic skills and patterns of strengths and weaknesses.
Often, if treatment is deemed necessary, we can offer outpatient services here at Helping Hand. If not, we will do our best to offer resources so that families can find the services they need.
An evaluation generally lasts between one and four hours. We accept many forms of insurance, as well as early intervention funding, public aid and private pay arrangements.
